21 Week Update

Hello everyone! We went for another regular checkup today and I had another ultrasound. My mom went with us and got to watch during the ultrasound. She did not have an ultrasound with me or my sister and technology has come a long way since she was pregnant with my brother, so I thought she would enjoy getting to see her grandson. You could definitely tell that Tristan had grown. He was all curled up in a ball! The doctor said that his size was perfect for his gestational age and that all organ systems looked good. She said that even though he looks squished in there, my amniotic fluid level and size of my uterus were just as they should be. His heart rate was 141, which is perfect. And he wasn't shy about letting us know that he is in fact a boy! He was pretty still throughout the whole thing which was surprising to me because he has become quite the little wiggle worm. I hadn't really gained any more weight since my last appointment, which is something that had been worrying me, but the doctor said that as long as he is growing like he should be to just consider myself lucky. When I go back in four weeks, I have to take my glucose tolerance test. It involves drinking some really nasty stuff so I'm not exactly looking forward to it, but I guess its all part of the process.

As far as working on the nursery goes......we haven't really gotten a whole lot done. We did get the furniture that was in the guest room moved out (thank you to those who helped!!!) and we bought the paint. But that's about it so far. I still need to get the closet cleaned out and Justin will hopefully start painting soon. We still have a little bit of time to work on everything.

20 Weeks....Halfway There!!!

Hi everyone! Well I've officially hit the halfway mark. The past 20 weeks have gone by so fast! I am definately starting to show more now. I don't look all that big when I get up, but by the end of the day, my belly looks huge! Tristan is really starting to be quite a little wiggle worm. I love being able to feel him kick and move around. Justin finally got to feel him kick the other night too! Usually whenever Justin would put his hand on my belly, Tristan would be still. Hopefully he will be still enough for us to get some good pictures of him when we go for another ultrasound next week!

20 Week Belly

I had a wonderful Mother's Day, and I hope that all the other moms and moms-to-be reading this did as well! It actually worked out where I didn't have to go to work that day. I ate dinner with my mom, brother, grandmother, aunt, and cousin, and had a wonderful time eating and visiting. Justin took his mom and sister out to eat also. Justin was really sweet and got me two cards-one from him and one from Tristan. He also got me a bracelet with all three of our initials on it and a keychain locket with a very sweet engraving. I would have been happy with a simple "Happy Mother's Day" but I'll take the presents too!

Hopefully we will start working on the nursury soon. We have some furniture swapping out to do next week and then I guess we will go from there. We picked out bedding but I haven't ordered it yet. We would like to paint (Justin gets to do that part!) and put up a chair rail. As soon as everything is painted we will worry about getting the furniture and bedding in. If the next 20 weeks goes by as fast as the last 20 weeks, I guess we better get busy!

17 week update

Hi, everyone! Things have been going pretty well. I had a weight/heart rate checkup on Monday (4/28), and everything looked great. It was nice getting to hear the baby's heart beat, although I forgot to ask what the rate was! I have only gained three pounds so far, which surprised me, because I have been eating all the time! But the doctor said that it was fine. I'm starting to get a little bit of a belly, I'll post some pictures soon. I can still wear my regular clothes, although my jeans are getting a little tight around the waist. I bought a few maternity shirts because they are loose and longer than regular shirts, and pretty comfortable, too. Plus, I figured that if I had on a maternity shirt people would know I was pregnant and not think I was just pudgy! After the doctor's appointment, Justin and I went and registered at Baby's R Us. It was fun getting to look at all the stuff! We are planning on registering at Target and Wal-Mart also, but just haven't gotten around to it yet. I think I have been feeling a few little kicks here and there, but I'm not sure if it is Tristan or if its just me wanting to feel it so bad that my imagination is playing tricks on me! I'm sure there will come a time when I wish he would settle down in there but right now I just wish I could feel him moving around! Justin can't wait until he can feel Tristan kicking too! My next doctor's appointment is in four weeks and I will have another ultrasound then. I can't wait to get to see the little guy again!! Well, that is really all I have for right now.
