Has another month really passed already? Wow, time has flown by! We have been trying to spend a lot of time outside to take advantage of the beautiful weather. Tristan loves going to the park and the playground across the street. And he can't wait for the pool to open, but that won't be for a few more months. A few Saturdays ago, the three of us went to Fairhope to the beach/playground area. It wasn't quite warm enough to get in the water, but Tristan had a lot of fun playing on the bridge and looking at the ducks. Then we went to the playground in Downtown Fairhope. They were having a puppy Mardi Gras parade that day, and Tristan enjoyed looking at the dogs all dressed up in their costumes. We went and got ice cream and we were worn out after all that!
Justin took Tristan to get a haircut and he was a perfect angel! He sat still in the chair all by himself, and turned his head when the lady told him to. He didn't even mind when she used the buzzer behind his neck and over his ears. There was no whimpering or whining involved whatsoever. So, I've decided that Justin can take him from now on, because that is not how he acts when I take him!!! He insists on sitting in my lap and we both usually end up covered in hair.
Tristan's new obsession is tags, or more accurately, cutting them out of EVERYTHING. Shirts, shorts, towels, wash cloths, PJs, stuffed animals, blankets, his boppy-everything. I've even had to cut the tags out of my own clothes on occasion. It wouldn't be so bad except that it means I don't know what size anything is, and Tristan likes to try and "help" with the scissors.
One of Tristan's new favorite games is red light/green light. He will run in circles around the kitchen, dinning room, and living room and will stop when we say "red light" and then start running again when we say "green light." I am a huge fan of this game because it means I can either be doing something else, or nothing at all! It also works when we are out and he tries to run ahead of us.
Something else new for Tristan is that he got a new bed. We were going to just move him to the twin bed that had been in his room, but it was a bit higher than the crib had been and it was harder for him to get in and out of. So Justin's grandparents bought him a toddler bed. It has worked great and he loves it! He even helped us put it together. It is low like his crib was and I love the drawer underneath, especially now that his dresser/changing table is in Anna Kate's room. We took the twin bed out of his room, and now he has a lot more room for his toys. He has enjoyed all the space to play and we have enjoyed clearing the toys out
