Hi everyone! It has been another fun filled month as Tristan continues to entertain and amaze us. He is doing even more new things. He can clap his hands and loves to dance to music-especially the Jeopardy music. He is learning his body parts and can point to his ear. He pretty much points to his ear for every body part, but its a start. He is starting to take steps without holding on to anything. He can take about 3 or 4 before he starts to wobble. He has gotten good at pushing his walk behind toy. Just watch out because he will run you over if you get in his way! He has always been very vocal but his words are starting to have meaning. He can say ball, duck, book, bite, and bottle (well, something like it, but that is what he means). He still says bye bye and waves and of course he can say Dada, but I am happiest to announce that he is now saying Mama!!!!!! It kind of caught me off guard the first time and I almost didn't believe my ears, but then he kept saying it. Tristan is eating so much these days, I'm surprised he hasn't gained a ton. He eats lots of "big boy" food, and still some baby food. He likes to feed us too, but sometimes I just cant find it in me to accept his slobbery, half-chewed piece of bread! He has started taking his formula in a sippy cup now, so we are down to just one bottle before bed. Tristan still has just two teeth, but the way he is drooling and chewing, there must be more on the way. It is really hard to believe that we will be having a birthday party soon!

For Labor Day, Tristan got to go on his first boat ride on Justin's Uncle Jim's boat on Fish River. He wasn't too sure about the life jacket at first, but then he decided it was okay. He seemed to like the ride as long as he was facing backwards so that the wind wasn't blowing right in his face. He was a little clingy at first, but the only time that he fussed was when we stopped.
not too happy about the life jacket
a little happier
much better

Tristan and Mommy
As for me, I am recovering well from having an enormous cyst and my right ovary taken out this past Wednesday. I think it has been hardest for Tristan because I cant pick him up. A big Thank You to everyone who has called, come over to help with Tristan, and provided food-especially those yummy chess squares!!!!

WOW!!! I can't wait to see him at Christmas - and I'm so glad he's saying mama for you now! Thank goodness you are OK and recovering - I'm so sorry you had to go through that!
Glad to hear you are recovering. Give Tristin a hug for me :)
