Tristan is 21 months!

Another month has passed by way too fast! Tristan is doing great and keeping us busy and entertained! He does the funniest things! His teacher says that when the kids are out on the playground, he is always doing something to make them laugh. Little class clown I guess, but I hope it wears off by the time he is in real school! We took Tristan to get another haircut. This time he sat perfectly still eating his sucker. And watching the other kid kick and scream. I felt bad for that kid's dad, but it worked out great for us. I guess next time we will just have to take another kid to distract him!
In June, we went to stay at my sister's house in Columbus, MS for her baby shower. The drive was so much better this time. It helped that my mom was driving and we brought along a portable DVD player. While we were there I took Tristan to a park nearby. It was a lot bigger than the park he is used to and he had a blast! I wish we had one like that near our house. Jennifer's shower went well and she got a lot of great stuff for Zooey. Aside from a fall and bust my face on the floor incident, Tristan did pretty well too. Now we just have to wait for little Zooey to get here!
For the Fourth of July we went to Justin's family's house on Fish River for some BBQ. We had a great time and Tristan even seemed to enjoy swimming in the river. He also loved playing in his pool that his Aunt Tara bought him. Tristan wasn't too crazy about the fireworks though. We started out watching them from the bank of the river, but that was too close to the dock and the noise scared him. We ended up taking some stuff out to the car and decided to stay there for the rest of the show. It actually worked out quite well. It was quieter with a better view, and best of all-no mosquitoes! Tristan would say "Pretty" and "Lights" every time one went off. He eventually lost interest and started playing with the windshield wipers and lights, but that kept him occupied long enough for me to enjoy the rest of the fireworks. A few days later we went out to eat at McGuire's in Pensacola for Justin's 29th Birthday. We had a great time with some great friends!
We went to the fountain yesterday but Tristan wasn't all that interested in playing in the water. He decided it would be more fun playing in the grass with his beach ball. And he was right. We had a great time kicking the ball and running around. He would run and tackle the ball, and every so often I would have to put more air in it. By the time we were done, the ball was a goner. I guess we will be getting another one soon!
We will have to make Tristan's bed into a toddler bed soon as well. When I went to get him out of bed after his nap, he slung one foot up on the rail and attempted to climb out. I waited a minute to see if he could do it and luckily he couldn't-this time anyway. A much more exciting accomplishment though, is that Tristan pee peed in the potty! He usually sits on the potty for a few minutes before his bath, but nothing ever happens. He realized what was going on, so hopefully now he has a better idea of what he is supposed to do. We haven't really pushed the potty training issue, but maybe this is a sign that he is ready to start. There's only one way to find out I guess.......
