Tristan went to his nine month check-up last Friday and is weighing in at 18 lbs and 2 oz, and was 28 inches long. He is in the 40th percentile for his height and head circumference, but only only in the 10th for his weight. I promise, we do feed him! The doctor said it was fine and that it was probably just because he is so active. He had to get more shots, which of course he hated, and a finger prick. We also found out that he has his first ear infection. He never ran a fever or acted like anything was hurting him, so I am glad that it was time for his regular dr visit.
We have had such a busy month, it doesn't seem like it should be the middle of July already. For Father's Day, Tristan and I attempted to make Justin pancakes, but the batter was a little too thin and it burned, so he ended up having to make them himself. Its the thought that counts, right? For the 4th of July, we went to Justin's grandparent's house on Fish River. We (Justin and I) had a great time tubing and knee boarding, and Tristan had lots of fun splashing in his kiddie pool. We watched the fireworks from the roof of the boathouse. I was afraid that the noise would scare Tristan, but he didn't seem to mind it. He just stared at the pretty colors. The following Monday was Justin's birthday. We went out to eat in Pensacola, and Tristan stayed the night with my cousin Sarah and her family. This was only his second night away from both mommy and daddy, so I was a little worried. But they said he did great and slept all night. I guess I missed him more than he missed me!
Tristan is such a happy-and energetic-little guy! He seems to do something new everyday. He loves to play peek-a-boo and chase his bouncy balls around the house. He is pretty good at rolling them back and forth to somebody to. He has gotten a lot faster at cruising around the coffee table and is starting to get brave and go back and forth between the table and the couch. He is learning how to wave bye-bye but usually just sticks his hand in the air instead of actually waving. He has been shaking his head back and forth for a while now, but recently my Aunt Kay taught him to nod it up and down, and he has been doing it ever since. He gets pretty close to the coffee table sometimes when he is nodding his head, but luckily he hasn't banged it yet. He is making all kinds of new sounds-including "mama" (finally)! He only says it when he is whining, but I will take what I can get!

I know that Tristan looked exactly like Justin when he was first born, but now I think he is a good mix of both of us. Here are some pictures of Justin and me when we were little so you can decide for yourselves.
Justin at around 6 months
