Wow, where has the time gone? I can't believe that my baby is two! I love seeing all the new things that he does, but it makes me a little sad that he is growing up. He is such a sweet and loving little guy and I definitely couldn't have asked for anything better!
The weather has been pretty nice this past month, and even a little cold at times. We have been trying to spend as much time outside as we can. I think Tristan would be happy living outside. Justin and his mom took Tristan to the fair in Baldwin County and Justin said that he had the best time looking at all the animals. He wasn't afraid to stick his arm in and pet them either! He was a little weary of riding the camel, but I can't say that I blame him. We go to the park and the little playground by our house as much as possible. Tristan has gotten scarily good at climbing the ladder and will go down the slide all by himself. He likes to do the monkey bars, which is quite difficult for me because he puts his feet on my shoulders and I have to hold him up. He likes to swing in the regular swing, too.
Tristan had two spend the night away trips this past month, one at my Mom's and one at my Dad's. It was kind of strange for me and Justin, but we took full advantage of it! One of the nights, we went out to eat for our four year anniversary at the Wash House. It was absolutely delicious! The other night, we went to a real estate function at the RSA Tower. It was on the 29th floor and the view was amazing. Afterwards we caught a movie. Neither of us could think of the last time we went to the movies together! And wouldn't you know it, both mornings that I had the opportunity to sleep in, I was wide awake at 5 am! What's that about?!?! I guess I just missed my little guy and was eager to go pick him up. He was probably having too much fun to miss me though.
Another exciting event this month was Tristan's Birthday party! We had it at a park near our house, which was much less stressful than having it at the house. It was a little warm outside, but otherwise went perfect. Tristan got a lot of great toys and clothes. He loves to watch "Go, Diego, GO!" so we got him a Diego cake. He was a little shy when we sang "Happy Birthday," but he did great blowing his candle out. He devoured his piece and then decided that it would be fun to start sticking his finger in the rest of the cake and eat the icing. He did try to share the icing at least :). He hasn't had his two year checkup yet, so I don't know exactly how much he weighs or how tall he is, but that is coming up soon. I'm not really looking forward to it though, because he will have to get shots, poor thing.
Thank you so much to everyone who came to the party and for Tristan's presents! It was great seeing everybody, especially my beautiful little niece Zooey!
